The Club welcomed special guests, Stewart and Yvonne Borthwick. Stewart is the Northumberland County Bowling Association's (NCBA) competitions' secretary. We are very grateful that he managed to fit the Forth dinner into his busy schedule: he had to catch the London train early the next morning to attend the English Bowling Association's annual dinner.
On the train to London, Stewart arranged with NCBA president,Tommy Foo, a special match to mark the 350th anniversary of the founding of the Forth. The president's team will play at the Forth Bowling Club on Thursday, 5th July 2007. This is a great honour for the club and the Forth members are looking forward to the match with keen anticipation. As you can see from the pictures above, the usual replica trophies were replaced this year by ceramic mugs, donated by a club member. Each mug bears the picture of the relevant trophy winner with details of the competition won.
