- 5 October 2006: Annual General Meeting

Summary:
- One minute's silence observed to mark the death of Peter Davies.
- Club competitions:
- Resolved unanimously that:
- One day competitions should start at 1.00 pm.
- Trevor Baxter should act as a singles competition "whip" with the power to disqualify any member not playing a match by its due date.
- Suggested, with some support, that playing on rink 1 of the green should be avoided for competition final matches.
- Reported that a new four wood championship trophy had been donated to replace the previous trophy, now missing.
- Reported that a benefactor had undertaken to provide ceramic mugs to replace
replica trophies in 2006. Each mug would bear
the photograph of a trophy winner or winners with a relevant citation,
A suggestion that this substitution be extended to the 2007 season was postponed to the spring meeting. - 2006 Club competition winners listed. Click for list of trophy winners.
- Resolved unanimously that:
- League matches:
- Resolved unanimously that the Club should apply to join the Hately
league and also the Tuesday evening Nines league.
On successful application to the "Nines", the Club would resign from the Knight league.
- Resolved that: first reserves should travel with the team to league
games as a matter of course
Second reserves should be telephoned if needed.
- Reported that subject to availability, the selection committee would always attempt to keep winning rinks playing together.
- Resolved unanimously that the Club should apply to join the Hately
league and also the Tuesday evening Nines league.
- Election of officers.
- Life Membership conferred on Martin Bass, for services to the Club.

- Any other business:
- Resolved, unanimously, to attempt the arrangement of a special match against the Northumberland County Bowling Association honorary vice-presidents to mark 350 years since the founding of the first Forth Bowling Club in1657.
- Request made to management committee for notices emphasising security, following an occasion on which the clubhouse was left unlocked all night.
- Reported that the groundsmen would be willing to build-up and repair bowling-green edges if a successful request were to be made to the local council.
- Reported that 6 bowl-catchers, donated by various Club members, had been
ordered from "City Sports" and would be delivered by the beginning
of November.
A previously delivered set of bowl catchers had been returned as unsuitable. - Request that the management committee revisit the subject of an automatic watering system.

- 18 October 2006: Death of Forth Life Member: George Saltwell
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of one of our life members, George Saltwell.
George died peacefully on 12th October 2006 in the Marie Curie Hospice. He had reached the ripe old age of 88. The memorial service was held in the Salvation Army Hall, Howard Street, North Shields on Wednesday, 18th October at 1.45pm followed by cremation at Whitley Bay Crematorium at 3pm.
George gave life long service to the Salvation Army movement.
He was a valued member of the Forth Bowling Club for many years and his unfailing cheerfulness and good humour endeared him to all the members. At the Annual General Meeting in 2002, he was unanimously elected to Life Membership of the Club
